Sustainability week w.38

Join us for a special school event "Hållbarhetsveckan". To most people the life inside a drop of sea water is completely unknown. Maybe you have heard about the eutrophication of the sea, algal blooms or even toxics in the sea. You probably know that humans, eagles and seals are the top of the food chain, that big fish eat smaller fish, that eat even smaller fish, but then what? What is the link between fish and plants? And what exactly is going on inside a tiny drop of sea water?
Join us in our yourney to the unknown parts if the sea, places you didn´t know existed. We offer films, lectures and laborations with microscopes!

WHAT CAN BE SEEN IN THE SKY?
Astronomy has shaped our world. Let us explore!
Come and enjoy the wonders of space. Experience Umevatoriets state-of-the-art technology. The digital planetarium at Umevatoriet places the audience right at the centre of action offering an amazing 3D adventure. After dark, in case of a clear sky, our main telescope in the dome will be open for guided tours. Or why not view the stars through one of our portable telescopes?

ASTROMATIK
Starting in space we move to the Orient and the amazing Bagdad tents of mathematics. Let your imagination run free as you journey through time meeting historical and astronomical characters from different cultures. This is the place to learn about the historical connection between mathematics and astronomy.

THE CRATERDETECTIVES!
You are invited to try and help us solve a space mystery and at the same time get the chance to deepen your understanding of our solar system. A scientist is a sort of detective, a science detective. Imagine that you are a researcher on a mission trying to solve a space mystery. You will conduct crater experiments in sand and mud. Your experimental accomplishments will help us understand the difference between craters located on the moon and the ones om Mars and at the same time answer questions like: Why are there so many craters on the moon? Are there similar craters on earth and if so, what can we learn from that?
